Customer Experience as a Real Estate Value Driver
How customer insight, data and technology are reshaping investment decisions and asset performance
Tuesday 19th May 2026
The commercial real estate sector is undergoing a fundamental shift. For decades, buildings competed primarily on location, specification and price. Today, that is no longer enough.
Across offices, retail, industrial & logistics, mixed-use destinations and living assets, real estate customers are increasingly evaluating places through a broader lens: the quality of the experience they offer. How easy is it to use the space? How well are services delivered? Does the environment encourage people to spend time there and come back?
This shift is reshaping leasing decisions, customer retention and asset differentiation across the market. Customer experience is no longer a “soft” concept. For investors, developers and asset managers, it is becoming a core driver of value creation, and even being considered at the point of investment - both at the individual asset level and across portfolios in M&A activity.
The ability to design, measure and deliver exceptional experiences is emerging as a defining capability for successful real estate organisations. Better data, richer insights and technology are transforming how experience can be measured and delivered, by providing a deeper understanding of how people interact with buildings and places, and by enabling owners and operators to deliver better environments.
Drawing on real-world examples from across the built environment, this session will explore how engagement and satisfaction data can act as early indicators of income stability, operational risk and long-term value - and how technology can help capture and apply these insights more effectively.

Measuring What Matters.
A Benchmark for Customer Experience in Flex and Coworking Real Estate
Thursday, 16th July 2026
Flexible workspace operators measure everything from occupancy and utilisation, to acquisition cost. But very few operators can answer a much simpler question with real evidence:
How good is our customer experience compared to the market? And how do we know?
Experience Makers is bringing together a small group of forward-thinking flex and coworking leaders to help answer that question through the creation of the first dedicated customer experience benchmark for the flexible workspace sector.
This is not a conference or a sales event. It is a working group for operators who believe customer experience should be measured with the same rigour as financial and operational performance.
This session will explore:
What best-in-class customer experience looks like in flex and coworking environments
The key drivers of satisfaction, retention and advocacy in flexible workspace
What operators should actually be measuring (and what most miss)
How customer insight can support leasing, retention and brand differentiation
How an industry benchmark could help operators understand their relative performance
Who should attend:
This session is designed for senior leaders across flexible workspace operators, coworking brands, asset managers with flex strategies, customer experience and operations leaders and investors interested in operational performance
Why join the benchmarking group:
Participants will have the opportunity to:
Help shape the first CX benchmark for the flex sector
Contribute to defining what “good” looks like
Compare approaches with other leading operators
Gain early access to insights emerging from the project
Be part of an initiative designed to raise standards across the sector
